Nico Essers joined Lewellen | Strebe | Hopper Family Law Group as a Client Intake/Retain Specialist and Legal Administrative Assistant. Since joining the firm in December 2023, Nico has provided great value by connecting the firm with potential clients through the scheduling of meaningful consultations and by preparing intake forms for retaining services.
Nico also helps ensure the office is well organized and running efficiently. This helps maximize the firm’s resources to best serve our clients. Her additional duties consist of managing incoming and outgoing mail, meticulously scanning and cataloging documents into the firm’s database, and notifying the responsible attorneys and paralegals.

Nico is passionate about helping individuals navigate tough times. She takes pride in her ability to connect with people and empathize with what they are going through. Her skill set has been honed over 14+ years of experience in roles that required her to connect with others by asking questions to learn more about them and their situation.
Her academic journey started at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Nico is currently building her legal knowledge through Legal Professionals Training Courses. She further expands her insights as part of the Sacramento Legal Secretaries Association (SLSA).
Personal Background
Nico’s passions extend beyond the firm’s office, often promoting local and small businesses to help grow the local community.
Nico Essers grew up primarily in Missouri outside of St. Louis and has been in Sacramento for nearly 11 years now. In her free time, Nico can often be found at live music events, out in nature, or traveling. Nico also enjoys spending time with her dog, Aloe. She rescued him in Aruba and says that he is the sweetest little guy.
